By copying without selecting or interpreting, he reveals not meaning but the kitsch quality and inherent strangeness of the media itself. This poster-format zine features 100 hand-painted reproductions of 8cm "tanzaku" CDs — a short-lived format that blossomed and disappeared as a byproduct of its era — all recreated at their original size from the 1990s. Alongside each work, LEE adds contextual notes: the background of the era, traces of his own personal journey, cover variations, sales figures, and notable events of the year. Viewed together, these fragments evoke a vivid portrait of 1990s Japan as seen through LEE’s eyes.
